Free Drawer Front Farmhouse Kitchen Decor
March 18, 2015
When I'm not creating and blogging, I work at a furniture store four days a week. When this drawer front was going to be thrown away, I took it home with me.
First I painted the drawer front with two coats of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in "Old White".
I wet distressed the drawer front and really liked the way the paint actually chipped off. Then I waxed the piece with ASCP clear wax.
I am going to use three mismatched hardware pieces on my drawer front. A vintage wire hook, a vintage cheese grater, and another pot metal hook (the finish has worn off).
I added two saw tooth type hangers on the back and hung the repurposed drawer front on a wall in my kitchen with two old tin cups and a farmhouse striped towel.
It works well with my other vintage kitchenware.
I hardly ever say "no" to free junk!

This is beautiful. It would have made an equally funky 'serving tray'. Thanks for sharing all your creativity. I love getting your posts every day 😀

ReplyDeleteThis is so cute. What a wonderfully creative idea!
ReplyDeleteI have never seen a cheese grater like this. I picked my two favorite projects to visit first--both were yours, haha!
ReplyDeleteThat is really cute and useful I like how you have the towel through the grader handle
ReplyDeleteYour farmhouse corner is really up to date
