The First Garage Sale of the Season

March 20, 2015
Older neighbors are moving into an apartment soon, and had a garage sale this morning to downsize.  I was very lucky to get these Ball jars with mostly solid zinc lids for 15, 25, and 50 cents each!

I paid $2 for this large Altas hinged lid jar.

I didn't know that these were Salt and Pepper Shakers until I got them home.  I thought they were spools of some kind.  I think they might be old.  $2.

This twig swag was only 25 cents.  I think I will spray paint it white and maybe use it outside.

A pizza paddle for $2.  I will re-purpose this for sure.

This little table was made in Haiti.  I will be up-cycling it with paint. $5.

I paid $4 for this leaded glass cloche or terrarium.  I have always wanted one of these.

I purchased this galvanized pail/garbage can for $5.  It will work great in the junk gardens for plants!

A baggy of wooden utensils for $1.

This long trough like container was only $1.  Not sure what I will do with it yet.  Update**** Have been told this may be a baguette board or trough.

I purchased a nicely weather wood and metal bistro set for outdoors too. $15.  That was all of my garage sale purchases, but I do have a couple of other pieces to show you.

I purchased this solid wood small coffee table at the thrift shop for $5.  I love the hairpin legs.  A makeover will be coming!

I purchased this colonial style maple bookcase for $25 from my boss' mom.   A makeover will be coming on this too.

Have garage sales started yet in your area?  It's still pretty cool here in northern Minnesota, so they won't get into full swing for a month or so.

  3. Jealous of these finds! I believe your trough container is a French baguette board. I use mine on my dining room table with seasonal decorations. Easter eggs fit in it really well.
