Farmhouse Style Cabinet Door Repurpose
April 13, 2018
Here is another one of my Menard's 5 dollar display cabinet door purchases.
All of the cabinet doors were square.
First I brushed on two coats of Chalked Paint in Chiffon Cream.
I sanded the door with 220 grit sandpaper to smooth brush strokes and to distress the edges.
Next I pulled out my FolkArt Die Cut Paper Stencils Farm Life (26-Pack).
These FolkArt paper stencil packs are a good buy. Even if you don't use them all, you will get your money's worth.

I am going to use the rooster weather vane stencil. I had to cut it down a bit to fit in the indentation.
I stenciled the bottom of the vane on the cabinet frame.
I used Ceramcoat craft paint in black to stencil the design. I sealed the door with Varathane Water Based Polyurethane in a Satin Finish.
A fun farmhouse decor piece!
I may use rooster vane door on my covered patio.

Wow, Carlene, you take the simple things and make them elegant! I am always inspired by your work. I adore the addition of the red knob and rusty hinge. Positively brilliant!!
