Christmas 2011 Decorating - The Tree
December 09, 2011
I am influenced by many decorating styles, primitive country, modern country, junk decorating (especially in my flower gardens), French and English Country, shabby chic, cottage, vintage, almost everything but contemporary. That may be because contemporary boasts the minimalist approach to decorating, no stuff, clean lines. Boring!
I would say my living room is English Country for the most part. I have a lot of teacups and china, gold framed pictures, antiques, and a linen floral sofa. A few years ago I decided not to put my country/primitive decorations on my living room tree and opted for a more formal "pretty" look.
I now trim the tree with deep red/burgundy poinsettias, gold beaded stems in two sizes, white angels, glitter and glass balls in gold, and burgundies, treetop angel and gold dollar store frames with sepia tone photos of my husband and I, my kids, my grandkids, my mom and my dogs.
