Nostalgia Day 21: Turner & DeJonge Vintage Prints
October 21, 2012
This is a re-post of an earlier blog entry that pertains to my 31 Days of Nostalgia series.
I have always been attracted to the look of Turner and De Jonge vintage prints.
I have four prints in my living room and four in the foyer.
Taking photographs of them was near impossible. Glare everywhere (and me in some of them)!
This pair of oval prints also has a burgundy background and burgundy frame with gold trim. I purchased these at an antique store for about $60 each. They are not signed.
The Oriental man and woman hang on each side of the dining area picture window.
And the burgundy floral ones hang over the desk hutch.
These four prints hang in the foyer on a dark brown accent wall:
These two are from a garage sale, cheap! I painted the frames an heirloom white. They are not signed.
These are from an antique store at about $30 each. I painted these original frames as they were a dingier white. These are signed Turner.
Did you notice anything about the prints? The burgundy oval floral prints are the same floral prints as one of the sets in the foyer, just different size and different frames!
I have one more set of airbrush prints too that are packed up in the closet right now. The prints are of an old fashioned man and woman with a mauve background and white frames.
Do you remember these old prints?

This sweet Oriental man and woman are on a burgundy background. The frames were originally a burgundy color too, but I painted them navy blue. I purchased these about 10 years ago at a garage sale at $4 for the pair. They are not signed.

Stopping by to say hello! I love your collection and I am really enjoying your series.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful prints and frames. It was fun to see your collection.
ReplyDeleteI've seen similar floral prints, but I'm not sure of the artist. The prints in the oval frames are my favorites.
ReplyDeleteLove your prints and the way you have them displayed.

I've never heard of these before - but they are fabulous! Great score from a garage sale too! And I have the hardest time taking pics of art under glass too!!

ReplyDeleteHi Carlene,
ReplyDeleteYour Turner and De Jonge vintage prints are beautiful! Isn't it a challenge to photograph them? I got a chuckle out of it as I always seem to get my reflection when I try to photograph spoons. I hope your week if off to a great start!
Hi Carlene,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful prints, they don't have to be signed. Art is in the eye's of the beholder. All your art is lovely!
Have a sweet day,Elizabeth
Well, you stumped me this time. I've not seen these before, but you sure have them all displayed so well. I love how you find a way to use so many cool vintage items and make it all come together.
