Nostalgia Day 27: Presidential Collectibles
October 27, 2012
I don't have a lot of a lot of presidential memorabilia but a few pieces...
A John F Kennedy Book by Theodore C Sorensen.
This is a collectible from my Dad or his brother. Youth for Roosevelt from the 1940's.
The Teddy Roosevelt Creed framed.
And this vintage presidential plate made in the USA and marked "S".
Also five Eisenhower dollar coins...
Just collecting vintage presidential memorabilia...as I find it...

I love the Roosevelt Creed. I'd heard bits of it before, but I'd never seen it. That would be really fun to have. Love the collection and the blog.
ReplyDeleteYour collection is a good reminder for everybody to get out and vote!
ReplyDeleteNice little collection! I have a few magazines from when President Kennedy was shot. I love your Roosevelt items. I enjoyed seeing your items and I also like the plate.

Timely collection Carlene! My favourite is the plate!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love all of these collectibles! I especially love the Teddy Roosevelt Creed. I had the honor of meeting his son Archie once. He was quite elderly, and a bit forgetful, but thoroughly charming! Have a great Sunday.

You're off to a good start on this collection! I'll never forget the day the principal came into our classroom and told us President Kennedy had been assassinated. . .It was a sad time in history. . .The entire nation cried. . .Ever since, I've kept many of the Kennedy books that came my way. . .
ReplyDeleteWhat good timing to show your collection. . .
I didn't know I had so much in common with Mr. Roosevelt. I like to carry a big stick too!

I love those Eisenhowers!!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes I'm looking forward to being done with this!
I don't think I have any presidential memorabilia, but I did get to shake Gerald Ford's hand as a kid when he came to a mall parking lot. I remember writing a letter to president Nixon as a kid. I can't remember what it was about. I got a form letter back and I don't know what ever happened to that. Dang. I should have kept it just for the fun of it!
