Sheet Music Christmas Decor
November 06, 2012
I bought some vintage piano lesson books recently for $1 each at a local thrift shop.
Pinterest is full of Christmas sheet music decorations. I was inspired.
With more $1.49 for six, clear glass ornaments available at our local Menard's, I cut some of the piano book music pages in strips.
Then filled clear glass balls with the strips.
I like them.
I also made some sheet music bundles from my piano books.
I crumpled the pages.
Then folded them in piles.
I then ironed them with a cotton cloth.
I brushed on matte Mod Podge and sprinkled with mica faux snow. I also tied the bundle with jute and a button.
I just bought this "vintage look" Santa figurine today. Love him with my sheet music bundles!

What great ideas! I picked up Christmas sheet music at a garage sale this summer, now you've inspired me.
ReplyDeleteOh Carlene! They are so cute! I might copy cat these ideas to decorate my daughter's room! She is the musician at home!

ReplyDeleteBoth ideas are so cute, but I LOVE the vintage Santa one. Cute!
ReplyDeleteSo darn cute!! Love the mica on them too. I think crafts see the iron in my house far more than the clothes do. Thank goodness for advances in non-wrinkling technology! :)
ReplyDeleteReally cute ideas. The sheet music really is everywhere, isn't it? Your decorations turned out just great. Way to get started early - but then, you're organized!

ReplyDeleteCarlene, you are awesome!! Love these projects! I have been trying to find a way to use some of the old hymnal copies I have at church that are duplicates, and the tea thing is just what I need to do to them. So pretty:-)

Seeing all your Christmas crafts is scaring me! I'm not even started on anything yet. I'm still trying to get my house in shape for Thanksgiving and boy is it time consuming. I do love your music bundles though. What a great idea! If only I could get all my other work done and play at Christmas decor. Keep the ideas coming. I'll need some quick things to copy when I finally get to it. :)

I think that you have single handedly wiped out all of the Christmas sheet music in all of the thrift shops across the nation. Everyone (me included) will want to copy this idea!
