A Valentine's Day Mantel
January 08, 2013
I don't even have all of my Christmas decorations put away yet.
BUT, I got the bright idea to use my red bicycle wheel from my Christmas mantel again for Valentine's Day.I have a bag full of old valentines from my early childhood, the late 1950's and early 1960's.
A double duty, re-purposed bicycle wheel anchors my Christmas and Valentine's Day mantels.

Oil lamps, a sewing machine drawer, faux greenery, an old book, a head vase, the bike wheel, five vintage valentines, a red vintage tray, a heart swag, a "love" sign, a felt rose, a lantern and a couple of doilies complete the mantel display.

Now I have to go out and find a bicycle wheel. It will definitely have to be red. A friend owns a bike shop so I might hit him up.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration.
