Faux Chocolate Easter Bunnies
February 24, 2013
Last week on one of my days off, I painted a couple of bisque bunny figurines that I had purchased thrifting for $1 each.
Real chocolate bunny and mine. Mine is a little darker.
I think he looks like a chocolate bunny.
I decoupaged the label from a chocolate bunny wrapper to the outside of an old crock.
This is bunny number two.
I added some shredded brown paper and chocolate foil eggs to the crock.
Now to put away the crafting mess!
Joining Brenday for Tweak It Tuesday.
Since the bunnies did not have a shiny finish, the acrylic paint stuck very well. I mixed Walnut Noyer, Burnt Sienna and Raw Sienna. Not sure of the proportions. I winged it. I brushed on several coats with a foam brush. I then sealed them with a water based matte poly.

Sheer awesomeness Carlene. I am sitting here eating chocolate Peepsters right this minute. hugs friend, olive
ReplyDeleteThese are adorable!!! I just purchased what looks to be the same two bunnies yesterday. I had hoped to cover with moss, but they are too small....this is perfect. Yours are so cute, thanks for the inspiration! Visting from BNOP.
ReplyDeleteWatch the teeth. I know someone will try to bight 'em because they REALLY look like quality chocolate. So cute I must find some chalkware bunnies and copy. Cute Cute Cute
ReplyDeleteI like how you did the crock, and the bunny looks like the really good kind that tastes like expensive chocolate and not like the cheap ones that taste like greasy chemicals. Put that in a room with kids and you'll probably find teeth marks on it later.
ReplyDeleteHow cute...and what a "sweet" idea! I love the bunnies and your book page bunny as well. I will be looking for a bunny to do this with soon! I am your newest follower and I hope you will stop by and visit me sometime as well!
