Welcome to Northern Minnesota
February 17, 2013
Spring is not around the corner here in northern Minnesota.
The view out my front door. The path is for our little dogs to walk on outside to potty.
More of the dog path in the front yard.
The street in front of my house.
My poor potting bench.
The deck.
My house from the street side. My husband was up on the roof yesterday cleaning some of the snow off, so we won't get ice dams.
And to make things worse, could you see in the photos that it is snowing again right now?
***Update*** Eight more inches of snow since these photos were taken. UGH!

Good Afternoon Carlene, My word, you do get a lot of snow.....there is so much snow on the roof of your house. It makes our snowfall quite minimalist in comparison to yours.
ReplyDeleteI hope the snow does not stay for too long and that you will be able to get out and about soon.
Take care.
Best Wishes
Daphne
Oh stop it! You're making me so jealous! I have to admit..I don't miss the whole ice dams thing. Beautiful pictures though!
ReplyDeleteMajor UGH! I sent one of these pictures on to my friend who use to live in your state, so she would quit complaining about our weather! Ha!
ReplyDeleteMajor snow, wow, I don't think I have ever seen that much snow.
ReplyDeleteI went back through my posts and found you again through the Cloche Party. I now have you back on my blog list to follow. I am sorry, yours is just one of the many that I have lost somewhere. I hope you will forgive me again, really not trying to eleminate anyone. Hugs, Marty
That's alot of snow. It looks beautiful. Probably not if you have to get out and about.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, looks very familiar. Lucky for us, it doesn't look like that outside this year. It's been melting... I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that the snow quits soon! :)
ReplyDeleteWow, you've had a lot up north...not so much here in the cities, but we sure do need it! Love your pretty header, Carlene!
ReplyDeleteOh, hope you don't hate me dear Carlene, but I miss snow from my home town NYC! Your winter wonderland photos are awesome!! Wish I was there visiting you. Have a lovely week.

Wow that is crazy, I hope all is well today I could never imagine living in a place where it snows that much! I am a native California girl. I do Have to say it looks very pretty. Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteWow - I thought Montreal got a lot of snow - that's unbelievable!!! Is that from a freshly fallen batch that hasn't had a chance to melt - or is that just the way it is everyday?

I'm ready for spring. Just looking at your winter wonderland makes me shiver. '-)
ReplyDeleteStay warm and cozy......Sarah
Oh my, that is some snow. Beautiful, but would hate the "trapped inside" feeling. Well, you will really enjoy Spring and all the moisture from the snow will be great. No wonder you have such beautiful flowers.
ReplyDeleteTake care.
Hugs,
Audrey Z.

I'm in Southern Minnesota but we don't have HALF that amount of snow!
ReplyDeleteWish we DID! It's beautiful!
sandy :)
Could you send your hubby this way to take the snow off our roof? Nobody's climbing a ladder to the second story of our old house, so I'm hoping the snow melts quickly and the icicles fall off....without killing anybody!!
ReplyDeleteOh no! Sometimes winter can be so cruel. Hopefully it will start melting soon!
ReplyDeletemy goodness I have not seen that much snow since I was a little girl in central Illinois
ReplyDeleteThat's more snow than I've seen in a long time. Want a laugh? Here in north Alabama they started schools 2 hours late due to frost! I don't think the state even owns a snow plow! Glad I found your blog, Jan
ReplyDeleteWow...you sure do have a lot of snow. We've been getting some light snow for the last few days, but only a inch or so. If we get very much snow...we get ice dams on our roof too and those are no fun!!

Yikes! And I sit here complaining about flurries and temps in the low teens. Stay warm- I think we all want spring to make its appearance- you more than most!
ReplyDeleteI am in Western Wisconsin Carlene about 2 hours from the twin cities and we have just about that much on the ground here. It's been a long winter and I am so hoping for spring soon.
ReplyDeletehang in there, your not alone.
Cindy
Looking at all that snow is making me feel a bit cooler; you see it's stinking hot here in Melbourne, Australia! I hope you guys don't get too many more heavy dumps! All looks pretty but I know how difficult it can be with too much snow!
ReplyDeleteO dear...waaay too much snow but can see, with all that moisture, you will have such beautiful flowers, come spring. :)
ReplyDeleteCarlene,
ReplyDeleteOh boy! Snow is lovely to look at, but in my opinion mid January I want to see it melt.
Your piles of snow looks familiar to what we have here in N. Utah, but we usually don't get quite this much snow.
How about you, is this a normal
snow season for Minnesota?
I am looking forward to Spring,
how about you :)
As always, I love your great eye for decorating.
hugs,
~Diane
Yeah, it's hard to get excited about hanging a spring wreath on the front door when it looks like Santa's on his way.

Silly me. I thought I was cold this weekend. I shall put on my big girl pants and go forth and trim some crepe myrtles. Hang in there Carlene.
ReplyDeleteWow! I thought we got a lot in Ohio, but you got A LOT! Dreaming of spring...
ReplyDeleteSusan
Wow, that's a LOT of snow! We got a dusting here, but it didn't stay long.
ReplyDeleteStay warm!!!
Blessings,
Cindy
Goodness, you do have a lot of snow! I know you're probably tired of the white stuff. I would be happy if you sent me just 2 inches to Oklahoma!

Oh, my! And, I was just posting about Spring being close!
ReplyDeleteThe snow scenes are beautiful, but I'll enjoy them from here. OK? lol
Goodness, I can't even imagine life with snow. Having to get on the roof in it sounds not so fun. Stay warm and safe out there!
