Duck Decoys and More of the Master Bedroom

March 28, 2013
If you remember last week's sneak peek at our master bedroom, you will recall a 1970's early American bedroom chest that I had painted creamy white over 15 years ago and vintage duck collectibles.

More ducks are found on the dresser...

But this time they are not duck figurines, they are vintage duck decoys, in a row across the top of the mirror/hutch.

Vintage fishing reels are displayed on the small mirrored shelves.

A chippy green wood box holds a vintage deer, fish and reel figural planter.  The elk or moose pitcher is made in Bavaria and was my Great Grandma's.

The planters are garage sale finds.

The next master bedroom post will reveal the whole room, if I can get my husband on board with straightening up a couple little areas!

Thanks for reading my blog, Carlene

  3. Wow you are a good wife. If I decorated our room for my husbands taste, it would end up being a shrine to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

You make all your displays look great.

  5. Those planters are so cute. I will not show my husband this post, because I do not want motorcycle parts hung on the wall in the bedroom :)

  11. Oh my Carlene, what beautiful decoys. Your pictures are fantastic and the decor is very interesting. My daughter has the duck theme in one of her ranch bedrooms and I enjoy finding ducks for her. I had sold all the old decoys I had collected. Thanks for sharing, so inspiring.
    Happy Easter,
    Audrey Z.

  13. Wow! Another girl with the same style as me...it's like finding a long, lost sister! ;) I even have the same "Lucky Strike" lure sign. Our fishing decor is in the living room, though. My ducks (not decoys just wooden ones) have been nesting in a picnic basket waiting to be used again one day. Just can't bear to part with them. Now, thanks to inspiration from you, maybe a few of them will find their way into our master when I repaint/decorate it in a few weeks.

  14. Carlene, it looks wonderful! How clever of you, the lodge look is so warm and inviting. Those decoys are priceless.
Your hubby must be over the moon and feeling like the pampered king each time he walks through the door! Great idea!
    Hugs,
    Patti
