Buying Garden Decor
April 28, 2013
Even though I work at a furniture store and receive an employee discount, I don't purchase many home accents or accessories at work mostly because I like to go vintage.
This iron rooster is a recent purchase from the store.
He stands about 21 1/2" tall and has a multicolored distressed finish. You will be seeing more of him soon when I plant my flower gardens.
I purchased this barn wood "garden" sign recently at a local craft shop. The dragonfly body is a wood bobbin and the wings are cut from window screens.
The snow literally melted before your eyes yesterday when temps hit the 70's. Spring has finally arrived in the Northwoods.

Love that rooster, how fun is that. The garden sign is so clever too with the spool and screen. Great treasures. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI was thinking of you yesterday as we were raking up the leaves on my flower beds. I bet you can't wait to get your hands in the dirt! Love the new garden art!

ReplyDeleteLove the rooster!! The garden sign is so cute!! We have a wonderful country shop here, but I'm sad that she doesn't have very many handmade items anymore.

Well that rooster would have come home with me too. He is great! Can't wait to see him in his garden setting.
ReplyDeleteTwo cute new additions to your gardens Carlene! We were in the 70's all weekend! I know you are loving watching that snow melt :-)

ReplyDeleteHi Carlene,
What a wonderful rooster. I love the distressed style. It will be great in your garden.
Your garden sign is darling. What a sweet idea for the dragon fly to be designed using an old spool. I have so many of those. Thank you for the inspiration.
Happy Monday.
Hugs, CM
Yay for spring! I need to make one of those dragonflys. Very cute.
ReplyDeleteThe Rooster is so cool for the garden. I would like one,as there is a little farmette down the road with roosters that often rudely wake us up. You are so creative ...following you now.
ReplyDeleteCute pieces! They'll look great in your garden.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute dragonfly sign- love that its body is a spindle! Most of my garden goodies are thrifting finds, although I've bought a few things at market. I figure that the rough weather like you and I get won't hurt the already "used and vintage" look of the items! LOL
ReplyDeleteThe rooster may be new Carlene, but he has a vintage feel. the sign will be cute in your garden.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
Hallelujah for your spring arrival! What fun new acquisitions you have made. Fun times ahead as you get all your garden goodies put together!
