A New Toy for my Succulent Garden Bed
July 25, 2013
I bought myself a new toy. Really!
A vintage, metal Tonka front end loader.
I hit a flea market last Saturday and found it. I think it was originally yellow but was already re-painted orange. It was in pretty good condition. I paid $20. More than I like to pay for garden junk, but I will be able to use it for several years.
I ran across these plastic cones in Dollar Tree, and purchased three in yellow.
I spray painted them a neon orange, and I painted the base black, by hand with a brush, with Rustoleum chalkboard paint.
I also picked up two bags of river rock at Dollar tree to add to my succulent bed vignette.
Angelina sedum at the left front corner, flaming carpet sedum (angelina, blue spruce and voodoo sedum mix) at the upper right and hen and chicks on the lower right.
I'm having fun with my new toy!
