Adding A Little Autumn to Vintage Oil Lamps

As you know, I love decorating with vintage collectibles.  Today I am fall-i-fying a clear glass oil lamp.  I know.  It's pretty early to roll out the fall decor, but as long as I don't put any outside, the neighbors won't talk!

Here's the vintage Enesco pheasant figurine that I found last fall thrifting.  I love its fall colors.  A velvet pumpkin from Jo Ann fabrics is in front.  (I didn't make it, but I got it 30% off).  And then there's the clear glass oil lamp. 



I added some putka pods to the base of the lamp. 

I added a fall floral pick to the chimney.

I bent the wire stem in a circle after I put the pick in from the top.  It rested nicely on the metal part of the lamp.  I used a pencil to push down and arrange the floral pick inside.

I like it much better with color.

    Morning, Carlene! Oh, this looks beautiful! I adore your bird and like what you've added to the oil lamp. I have an oil lamp that is my mothers and just have it poked up in the closet. Maybe I should bring it down.

    I have several lamps but right now they are full of oil. Very pretty what you have done and I won't tell anyone you are early.

    What a great idea, Carlene!! I have two oil lamps in the shed that are just sitting there. Love the putka pods in the oil chamber. Thanks for the inspiration!
