Pinterest Inspired Clipboard Photo Wall

October 25, 2013
I saved this photo on my Pinterest boards a long time ago.  I loved the clipboards with vintage photos in their original folders.

Slowly I found three old clipboards at rummage sales, and luckily my Aunt had one to give me too, to make four. Three of them were A & W Crown clipboards.

Here are my four clipboards on my kitchen table.

I decided to try a little Old English Furniture Polish with scratch cover on the clipboards to even out the different shades and water spots.

Do you remember when I found these large gallery photo frames for $8 each at a thrift consignment shop?

The frame is beautiful.

It has a very warm, rich brown color.

But to give it an aged look, I distressed it with a hammer and Phillips fine screwdriver.

Then rubbed the frame down with the Old English Furniture Polish with scratch cover.

I love the way it turned out.  Instant age!

Now to hang my frame and my clipboards, and add the vintage family photos in folders.

These photos are hanging in my family room/den.  I love how I can change out the photos easily.

Do you like my idea of clipboards in a large frame?

  8. I like this idea, Carlene. I've got lots of family photos in their stock frames from the photographer that would work for this display. Is that you on the bottom right?

  10. I really like t his idea and it turned out perfectly! I love family photos, old and new, and it's always difficult to find enough table top display space for them. Randomly hanging them on the wall can just look messy but this idea brings them together into a cohesive piece of wall art! Well done! Hugs, Leena

  18. Absolutely love it Carlene! Thinking I need to find a place to do at least two of these. Don't you just love Old English? My mom always used it and now I do too. Thanks for sharing with SYC.

  19. Carlene, the look is great framed. The boy in the striped shirt looks just like a boy named Paul I went to school with. Love the clipboards.

  22. Love it! I've always liked clipboards and I have some but not old...just a bunch I picked up at Staples for my "command center". LOL! I'll be keeping an eye out for some old ones. Any idea on what to do with an old waffle iron that no longer works? You have such great ideas and you've done so much with so many old items. I wasn't sure if you ever did anything with one of those. Or would it work if I had it rewired? Any experience with them? Thanks for any ideas. I'm trying to "use it up, make it do, throw it out or buy it new". TTYL!

Pinning for sure - genius Carlene!
