A Valentine's Day Shadow Box
January 04, 2014
I love it when some of my Christmas decor (the red stuff) can double as Valentine's Day decor.
Like this mini clipboard that had a Christmas photo of my brother and me on my re-purposed Christmas tree.
And another of my Kindergarten Valentine collection. (Isn't it amazing that my Mom saved them?)
Candy kisses in a couple of vintage nut grinders,
A couple of cloth hearts, and this Valentine's Day shadowbox is done.
Oh, and I added a vintage red tray to my green shutter.
Like this mini clipboard that had a Christmas photo of my brother and me on my re-purposed Christmas tree.
Now it displays a vintage valentine of mine from Kindergarten.
This ornament made with a Dollar Tree frame and a card of buttons works for Valentine's Day too.
This little red toy iron was part of the rustic Christmas shadow box too.
The re-purposed biscuit cutter snowman ornament was un-wired and back to three pieces on the bottom shelf. The red lantern was also part of the rustic Christmas shadow box.
I added a few more vintage Valentines. This one is a vintage framed postcard,
Candy kisses in a couple of vintage nut grinders,

Soooo cute. I still have Christmas up. My daughter and her children leave tomorrow so I hope to take things down. I will miss it but ready to move on. Love all your red.
ReplyDeleteLove your Valentine Shadow Box...so cute!! I left a few snowmen out for the month of January and then will put out the few Valentine things that I have for February.

This is just way too cute! I love your shadow box! I haven't even put my Christmas away yet! You are so organized! Wink!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE decorating for Valentine's Day! It's actually my favorite to decorate for. Christmas is put away and after a good cleaning I'll be decorating for Valentine's today. Great way of saving time and money by combining things. I always get my red and white lights, candles and ribbons on Christmas clearance.
ReplyDeleteThe shadowbox must be the most versatile item in your home - it seems to change all the time with wonderful vignettes. May favorite is the clipboard Valentine. I have not even thought of Valentine's Day! YIKES!
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet display! I love all the valentine goodies you have! Especially the cards your Mom saved!! so cute!
ReplyDeleteNicely done Carlene ... using the red from Christmas and adding a few Valentines is so smart and time saving.
ReplyDeleteI kinda just skip decorating for Valentine but love Spring decorating.
Hope your weather is nice.

Oh how sweet everything looks! You've definitely inspired me with your vintage Valentines. I have a few and I've never decorated with them before. Hmmm....
