Collecting Blue Glass
February 01, 2014
I am a collector. If three is a collection, then I have a ton of collections, and although I am not a minimalist, I never have all of my collections on display at once. I collect pretty stuff AND rustic, junky stuff.
Today I am showcasing my collection of blue glass vases, mostly cobalt blue vases.
I like to corral my collections on trays or in wooden crates for display. They are much easier to manage, and I also love the look. I also really try to avoid the "museum" look that sometimes happens with collectibles.
I love blue!
This is my dining table that I keep small (without leaves) when I'm not entertaining. Because it is situated in front of a picture window, photographing dining table vignettes is a little tricky.
I don't think I paid more than $10 for anything here and most were under $5 at garage sales and thrift shops.

That's pretty!
ReplyDeleteIt makes an interesting center piece too.

Cobalt blue is so striking! I love the way your collection looks grouped together like that.
ReplyDeleteCarlene, there is something very regal about blue glass. I have a few pieces too, including drinking glasses and bowls. Thanks for sharing your collection.
ReplyDeleteLove the blue. Had a good bit that was on consignment at the shop that just closed. Beautiful! I don't own a piece:(
ReplyDeleteI have a blue glass collection too! Your vases are beautiful - I especially like the two in back - I have one but not both. I have a lovely Madonna blue glass bottle with a stopper in the top. That's my favorite!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Catches the sunlight like no other color.
ReplyDeleteOoooh! I love those splashy looking vases particularly! Fun!
ReplyDeleteI love glass and these blue ones are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLove your beautiful blue glass and that gorgeous doily!

Love your collection...so pretty! My mom had the same piece like your tallest one when I was a little girl. My brother and sister got in a pillow fight with the pillows off of the sofa and broke the vase. Needless to say...my mom was not happy. They got in trouble and so did I for not telling her about the pillow fight that they were having. LOL...
