Fall Outdoor Decor: a SALVAGE STYLE Event
October 05, 2014
I am so pleased to be a part of a great group of junk artists today known as Salvage Style. In my post, I share how I put together a fall Salvage Style outdoor vignette. My fall anchor piece of 2014 is this great vintage orange pulley on a gate. Why not hang it on an old gate (with a chain) like a fall wreath? Here I placed pumpkins on rusty lanterns, and also added a small sign and raffia.
You are probably familiar with these blogging faces! Many of them are much more comfortable than I with power tools. While I love to repurpose and upcycle with the best of them, I stick to smaller projects and lots and lots of junk decorating inside and out.
This fall outdoor vignette is situated on a part of my front patio.
The right side of the vignette started out with old gate and pulley wreath on an old bench. Then I added my old pumps, milk cans, lanterns, buckets of mums and grasses, and my washboard planter from my summer
garden with pot lids. Many of these items have been moved from my summer gardens to be reused in this fall display. I love multi-purpose and multi-use junk!
Just move your items around at various heights and angles until you get a pleasing display. This is my kind of "Organized Clutter". This is fun. Unlike organizing closet clutter...
On the right of my junky fall display, is my potting sink/bench. Instructions for my shovel head fall sign can be found here.
Instructions for my shovel handle project can be found here.
More galvanized items on the potting bench and some colorful gourds. I have added an old wooden pulley and pitchfork too, just for fun!
That's my whole fall outdoor display thrown together with mostly all fun salvaged items!
Now it's time to check out all of my friends' salvaged projects!
Bliss Ranch, Becky, Marianne, Angie, Gail, Betsy, Pauline, and Mindi

Love it all Carlene! I'd want to display all of these treasures all year long. I'm with you on the closet clutter...that's what I did most of today. Yours looks like so much more fun.
ReplyDeleteCarlene,
ReplyDeleteYour fall decor looks soooo pretty! The orange pulley (wreath) fits right in there with the rest of it.
everything looks so fallish. :)
I am drooling over that pulley! It's not always easy to pull this type of stuff together in such an eye-pleasing way, but you nail it every time!
ReplyDeleteI love every bit of it. I must admit, I haven't changed my porch decor to fall yet, but plan to tomorrow. You have given me lots of ideas!
ReplyDeleteYou have such a great eye for pulling things together, it looks perfect! I wish I had your talent! I love the orange wreath pulley, and all your great "junk", the whole vignette is very inviting!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful Fall vignette. You have such an eye for seeing the beauty and the (re)purpose in old, cast-away items.
ReplyDeleteMy poor front porch needs your touch! I plop a pumpkin outside my door and call it good.
ReplyDeleteI love every detail about yours, from the garden gate with the orange pulley, to the pumpkins inside the lanterns!
I'm going to have to make shovel art, I love that! Probably won't get round to it till winter and not sure I will be able to spare shovels at that time of year.
ReplyDeleteLove it Carlene.. How great to have a potting bench!
ReplyDeleteI love the orange pulley hanging from your vintage gate, Carlene! It's the perfect autumn accent!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, there is so much to love here! I've been on the lookout for an old rusty gate. I adore the pulley wreath. Those water pumps are hard to find, but oh I love them.
ReplyDeleteLOVE that pumpkin pulley...and your whole junk filled fall porch :)
ReplyDeleteCarlene, you do garden junk like no one else! I'm all over your gate and wreath combo! Everything looks gorgeous.... I wish I could hire you to do up my garden right. :)
