Upcycled Thrift Shop Plate Rail Shelves for the Bathroom
November 15, 2014
It was time to make some updates in my vintage coral tiled bathroom. The yellow paint is gone, and my baby dress and my daughter's dress have been stored away. The plates will stay on the wall but will be displayed in a new way.
I purchased these plate rail shelves at the consignment shops recently. They are both the same length, but a little different. I painted them with my new bathroom accent color, Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, in French Linen. It is perfect with the coral tile. The top of the wall and the ceiling were painted with a Sherwin Williams color, Dover White.
Here is one shelf that hangs with the feet up,
And the other that hangs with it's feet down. If I would have made the feet symmetrical one rail would be on top of the shelf and the other rail would be underneath. I kind of like the mismatched feel!
Watch for more of my bathroom, laundry room and foyer paint & decor updates to come!

I have 3 small shelves to paint. I like what you have done with yours :)
ReplyDeleteI love your bathroom, so beautiful and creative.
ReplyDeleteLove the shelf and the new color in your bathroom.
ReplyDeleteI like how you painted them and they look gorgeous in your bathroom. I like the new colors.
ReplyDeleteI like the plates on the shelf much better. Looks like they would be safer there than on the wall. Your wall color is beautiful too. Love Dover White.
