Use What "You Have" Vignettes
August 27, 2015
I have been crazy busy here lately with new hardwood floor installation, work, a new consignment shop booth, and getting my daughter off to her first post-college job.
I just changed up my dining table vignette and coffee table vignettes with stuff I found around the house.
Since it's already getting cool outside during the overnight in northern Minnesota, I brought my upcycled sewing machine drawers with soup cans of ferns inside. I also moved my garage sale terrarium with blue and white dishes to the dining table, along with vintage metal flower frogs.
The remaining items on the coffee table, the faux plant and upcycled thrift shop basket were rounded out with a two quart jar of colorful buttons and a stoneware jug.
Nothing fancy, but vintage!

It's very pretty, Carlene! Feeling a lot more like fall here, too...and I am loving it!
ReplyDeleteLovely vignette!!! The drawers are just so cute! How I wish I had saved my mother's old Singer sewing machine.
ReplyDeleteI like your "use what you have" decorating style. I just painted a sewing machine drawer, love your double drawers and the plates under the cloche.
ReplyDeleteLove the old crock. I need to get busy changing out things for Fall ... a time when I love to use my old crocks too. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteLove creating with what we have! Great vignette! We are feeling fall here yet, still 106-109 but hoping we will drop under 100 in late September! Have a wonderful weekend! Blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteI used to have a terrarium exactly like that. After seeing your cute vignette here I wish I would have kept it! Feels like Fall here also but Sunday it is supposed to heat up again. I need a bit more summer so that is good.
ReplyDeleteUsing the jar of buttons as part of your vignette is brilliant! Never thought of putting my button stash out to display. But makes sense, as they are so colorful. Thanks for the inspiration!
