Two Upcycled Thrift Shop Finds for my Farmhouse Style Kitchen
January 31, 2016
My first thrift shop find is the this wooden "Measure" sign. It didn't come with hooks but I have seen these before for measuring spoons or measuring cups a while back.
I gave the sign a couple of coats of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White, and distressed it with 220 grit sandpaper.
I screwed in some silver colored cup hooks from Menards, and hung some mismatched measuring cups for a rustic farmhouse look.
Upcycle number two was even easier. This is an older Tom Sawyer print in a cool, rustic frame. I just popped the print off the back and gave the frame a coat of water based poly. This deepened the color of the wood and will make it easier to keep clean.
I love framing pot lids, license plates, and other junk in rustic frames. It gives my junk more emphasis.
I love vintage organized kitchen clutter!
