Re-purposed Cutting Board Christmas Card Holder
November 19, 2016
You know me, always picking up cutting/breadboards. This one is from a garage sale.
Also from a garage sale, this little wooden box was marked "pencil holder for shop" 50 cents. I bought two.
I attached the little shop "pencil box" to the cutting board with two screws. If you can't find a "pencil box" a different small box or wall pocket will work too.
I taped around the box with blue painter's tape (since I didn't paint the box before attaching) and painted it with Decoart Chalky Paint in Lace. I also stenciled on a snowflake from the Old Sign Stencils Winter Graphics Stencil. I sealed the piece with Miss Mustard Seed's Hemp oil. The hemp oil evened out the color of the cutting board as well as sealing the paint.
I tied on a scrap of muslin for hanging.
