Farmhouse Style Laundry Room Decor
March 09, 2018
Do you like vintage embroidered linens?
I used to pick them up all the time, but lately, I've slowed down. I bought these cute embroidered dish towels at the thrift shop for $2 each. The line drying and ironing themes seemed perfect for my laundry room.
Because my laundry room is right next to my kitchen, I decorate with farmhouse style kitchen/pantry/laundry room decor.
The bowl rack was originally red, and I repainted it with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White.
I purchased a one inch poplar wood dowel at Menards to add a dish towel bar to the bottom of my bowl rack.
I cut the dowel to fit the shelf, and after drilling starter holes, nailed the dowel from each side.
I painted it with Old White, and waxed it with clear wax.
The dowel was perfect for hanging the old linens, and the scalloped bottom of the rack still shows too!
I have another new "old" addition to my laundry room, a vintage drying rack.
I found it at the antiques store, not the thrift shop. It was $24.
I love old hangers too. I love all the memorabilia of hard "woman's work" I guess, but am grateful for my automatic washer and dryer.
The towels just make me smile!
