A Few Changes To My Garden Shed Decor
June 17, 2018
This window frame with sill has been one of my best junk finds ever.
It was the anchor piece of my 2015 Christmas Mantel HERE, and was repurposed as a window box planter HERE in 2016.
After a year over the potting sink and then a year by the shed, the curtain was very faded out.
I AGAIN turned to my *Old Sign Stencils Buffalo Check Stencil for the makeover.
*Old Sign Stencils provided me with complimentary samples.
All opinions about these fabulous products are my own.
A napkin is about the right size for the window frame curtain.
I used a white napkin here. I taped the buffalo check stencil in place (on the diagonal) with blue painter's tape. You will have to move the stencil from side to side to finish the pattern.
I used Ceramcoat Select Multi-Surface Paint in Black to stencil the checks.
I ironed the napkin on the non-stenciled side, and sprayed the stencils with Water Based Helmsman Indoor/Outdoor Spar Urethane Aerosol in Satin. I think the aerosol will somewhat protect the curtain from dirt and moisture.
Next I stapled the curtain to the back of the window frame.
There were not a ton of changes made from last year.
This is my shed in June of 2017.
Side view 2016.
See how faded the curtain was last summer?
Here is the shed's seating area in 2018, with the new curtain. Below the table is a red gas can and an enamelware tea kettle planted with parsley.
My Kalalou Galvanized Metal Flower Wall Hangings, Set of Five are still available at Amazon this year.
I set an inexpensive plastic hanging basket of Confetti Mix "Patriot" (from Kmart) in the cream separator I purchased at the Littlefork citywide rummage sales.
The plantings on the right include lemon grass on top of the wire egg crate and red trailing verbena below in another tea kettle.
The window frame box is planted with a red supertunia.
I hung a red chippy window frame on the front, right of the shed door, along with my *Old Sign Stencils/vintage grass shears/metal shed sign from an earlier post this year.
A Macho fern from Home Depot is planted in the galvanized watering can.
I needed this shed so badly for all my garden treasures, thrifted finds and garage sale purchases.

Hi Carlene! Your shed decor is wonderful. Love the table, chairs, the cute red window and curtain. I guess I love it all, lol. Jane
