I went to the St. Louis Park, Minnesota, Goodwill last weekend.
I found this unusual cutting board for $2.99, but at 50% off on Black Friday. I picked it up at $1.99!

First I wiped off the cutting board with hot, soapy dishwater, but I am sure it was never, ever used.
So I brushed on a couple of coats of Varathane Weathered Wood Accelerator.
I did this technique on a fish cutting board, and I loved it.

I stenciled the tree with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Amsterdam Green.
I sealed my sign with Krylon Gallery Series Satin Spray.
I also added a sawtooth hanger to the back of my sign! Because the sign is heavier on one side than the other, I had to play with it a bit.

It's a fun sign with some of my faux mini Christmas tree collection.
I went with a more traditional Christmas tree paint color, but it appears my trees are not all that traditional.
Anyway, you never know what you will find at the thrift shop that can become easy Christmas decor!
