Up-Cycled Ceramic Boot Vase/Flower Pot
March 18, 2019
This ceramic, flowered, burgundy colored boot vase was my mom's.
I thought it was pretty cool, but I wanted to give it a makeover with my style.
It's about 14" tall.

First, I brushed on two coats of Fusion Mineral Paint in Coal Black.
I used a Zibra brush to minimize the brush strokes. A sponge brush would work pretty well too.

I taped the word "Organic" onto the both sides of the boot and pounced on the lettering with Fusion Mineral Paint in Champlain.
I very lightly sanded the stenciling with 220 grit sandpaper, applying very light pressure. I did this just to make the stenciling a little more transparent.
Since this vase/flowerpot will be used indoors, I didn't use any sealer. Fusion Mineral Paint is self sealing.

Now my boot looks like a black rubber boot!
It has a more rustic/farmhouse vibe!
I added a couple of "organic" (ha ha) faux cotton stems in the boot.
The cotton stems are 30" tall. I purchased them at a local drug store's gift department.
An easy farmhouse update!
