Stenciling A Couple Fun Garden Junk Pieces

May 22, 2019

I purchased this white enamelware coffeepot a couple years ago, and have used it as a planter.

This old garage sale crate (stenciled with Spruce) was part of my "You Cut Tree Farm Christmas Covered Patio.

The white enamelware coffee pot was stenciled with one of the newer stencil designs from *Old Sign Stencils, Fresh Coffee.

I taped the stencil onto the coffee pot with blue painter's tape.

I love to use Fusion Mineral Paint in Coal Black or Ash for stenciling.  When stenciling on glass or enamelware/metal, I use a very dry brush and stencil two light coats to avoid paint bleeding under the stencil.

*All stencil prices are in Canadian funds.  Use the currency converter to find your price on US funds.

*Old Sign Stencils provided me with complimentary samples.
All opinions about these fabulous stencils are my own.

The ivy came from inside the house.  I overwintered it from last season.

It will do well on my covered patio.

The buffalo check/farmer's market sign was also stenciled using stencils from *Old Sign Stencils last summer season.

For the crate, I used my power sander to remove the "Spruce" stenciling, and then brushed on some of my vinegar/steel wool gray stain to re-age the newly sanded area.

I pounced on Fusion Mineral Paint in Coal Black once again.

I placed a Boston Fern in a crock inside the crate.  Ferns also grow so well on my north facing covered patio.

A plain old crate need not be boring!

Add some stencils to your outdoor decor!  Thanks for visiting!
