Upcycled Vintage Folding Chair with Dixie Belle IN THE NAVY
September 02, 2019
I picked up this vintage wooden folding chair at a local antiques/consignment shop for $10.
I decided the chair should be navy blue!

I cleaned the chair up with hot soapy Dawn dish soap water.
Next I brushed on two coats of Dixie Belle Chalk Paint in "In The Navy".
I found this Artminds Floral 7 pc Laser Stencil at a Michael's store in the twin cities in July.
The square stencil fit perfectly on the chair seat.
Another of the stencils in the set fit across the top slat.
I waxed the chair lightly with Dixie Belle Best Dang Furniture Wax in Clear. You can apply the wax with a fiber or lint free rag or a wax brush.
Dixie Belle Paint has become my favorite chalk paint! The paint is reasonably priced, works great, and distresses easily. Dixie Belle offers an extensive line of paint, waxes, clear coats, and other unique products, all described in detail on their website, or featured in how to videos.

I love to pull out dark blues in the fall to pair with orange pumpkins and flowers!
I am very happy with the floral stencil too!
The square floral stencil also fit on a garage sale platter, together with my glass cloche and a succulent HERE.
Thanks for visiting!

That turned out so cute, Carlene! From a dull old brown chair to an updated conversation piece. Thanks for sharing the project. I'm going to check out the Dixie Bell Paint, too.
