Garage Sale Vintage Iron Utensil Wall Decor Set Upcycle
October 15, 2019
Back in August of 2018, I shared this set of vintage iron decor utensils that I purchased at a garage sale HERE.
There are four utensils and a hanger, simply marked "Taiwan" on the back.

On a bright sunny day a couple weeks ago, I washed up some of the junk in my shed, including the utensil set.
I then primed the items with a couple coats of Rust-Oleum American Accents Ultra Cover 2X White Primer.
Next I gave the utensils and hanger a couple coats of paint. One utensil was painted in Dixie Belle Chalk Finish Paint in Barn Red, one in Dixie Belle Chalk Finish Paint in Colonel Mustard, one in Dixie Belle Chalk Finish Paint in Vintage Duck Egg, and the last one in Dixie Belle Chalk Finish Paint in Fluff. The hanger was painted with Dixie Belle Chalk Finish Paint in CAVIAR.
The stencil in the photo is from Hobby Lobby. It's an adhesive stencil called Country Love Floral.

I used several of the stencils or parts of stencils on the utensils, along with Dixie Belle Paint in Fluff.
Flowers on the red fork.
Also I leaf on the red fork handle.
Adding the stencils to the Colonel Mustard spoon.
Stenciling around the rim of the Vintage Duck Egg Ladle.
The white strainer spoon was not stenciled.
I waxed the set using Dixie Belle Easy Peasy Spray Wax. The spray wax is easy. I just wiped it with an INTEX Fiber Rag.
The utensil set is sort of farmhouse, country and maybe boho too!
The paint made a big difference!
Do you like color in the kitchen?
Pin for later!
Thanks for visiting!

Wow, love how it turned out and I have that exact same utensil set hanging in the kitchen, unpainted and plain. It's sooooo going to get the same make over
