Vintage Home Interiors Copper Pans Up-cycle
October 16, 2019
I picked up the set of three copper pans at a thrift shop for $2.99.
I used to own them in the late 1970's and early 1980's when I decorated in the Early American style. They were made by Home Interiors, and sold through home parties. (I'm sure mine were sold long ago at a garage sale.)
Crazy me, I re-purchased another set!

After wiping them down, I primed them with a couple of coats of Rust-Oleum American Accents Ultra Cover 2X White Primer. I like to prime raw metal when I will be using a chalk type paint.
I like to spray paint outdoors!
I opted to paint the pans black and brushed on two coats of Dixie Belle Chalk Finish Paint in CAVIAR. I used a sponge brush and got few brush strokes.
Caviar is such a rich black!
I wet distressed the pan edges lightly with a damp green scrub pad. The distressing has both copper and/or white primer showing through the black chalk paint.
I think the light distressing adds interest to the black pans!
Pin for later!
