Upcycled CLEARANCE Sale Unfinished Wood Decor
November 13, 2019
Do you look at the clearance aisle at the craft shops?
I do. I didn't buy this piece. It was given to me. (Actually I received two of these from my aunt.)
I think it's a Darice unfinished wood piece that was originally priced at $6.99, and was sold on clearance at $1. I would have picked them up at $1 each too. (This is cheaper than thrift shop pricing!)
(When you click on the bold Amazon, Old Sign Stencils or Dixie Belle Paint Company affiliate links you will be taken to the products I use for this project. If you order it does not change the price or service at all. As an Amazon Affiliate, Old Sign Stencils Affiliate or Dixie Belle Paint Affiliate, I earn from qualifying purchases.)
I painted both of them with two coats of Dixie Belle Chalk Paint in Caviar.
Caviar is a really great black!
This stencil is from the 2019 In Store Hobby Lobby Christmas Crafts. It's not available online.
I stenciled the three snowflakes on my black Caviar totes using Dixie Belle Paint in Fluff.
The Caviar with Fluff snowflakes really make a statement!
The snowflake ornaments inside the tote are wooden ornaments I purchased locally and labeled Mera Vic.
I stenciled the word "Snowflake" from this Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Mini Layered Stencil 3 Pack on the short ends. ( I purchased this stencil pack for the Nordic pattern stencil.)
I waxed the totes with my new FAVORITE wax, Dixie Belle Big Mama's Butta.
Big Mama's Butta really brings out a rich paint color, and NO greasy feel (after it dries) or streaks!
A flameless candle with faux snow would be perfect in the totes as well!
Pin for later!
