Goodwill Wooden Jewelry Box Upcycle
February 06, 2020
I found this little wooden jewelry armoire at the Goodwill in Bemidji, Minnesota.
It was unfinished, pretty much like new, and was priced at $7.99.

I bet you can't believe that I painted this piece with a bright aqua color!
I have purchased a few brighter paint colors from Dixie Belle Paints recently, including this one, Dixie Belle Chalk Finish Paint in The Gulf.
I brushed on two coats.
I opted not to distress the jewelry armoire.
I chose to stencil the armoire with Prima Marketing Redesign Stick & Style Stencil 4" Roll - Cornelle Garden.
I purchased my Redesign Stick & Style Stencil Roll at Hobby Lobby. Hobby Lobby has a few other adhesive roll stencils too at $9.99 each.
Above, I am getting ready to stencil the sides of the little drawers.

This very flexible, adhesive stencil fit easily into tough stenciling areas.
I swirled on my stencil for an opaque look using Dixie Belle Paint in Drop Cloth.
I waxed the armoire with Dixie Belle Best Dang Wax in Clear, a waxing brush and a rag.
The armoire can stand on a dresser or shelf, and has a hanger on the back as well.
So who likes bright paint colors? Who likes neutrals?
My framed mandala wall art matches the jewelry armoire pretty well!
Thanks for visiting!
