Framed Stenciled Canvas Farmhouse Kitchen Decor
March 16, 2020
I purchased three Artist's Loft 12" x 12" square canvases at Michael's on Black Friday in the Twin Cities. These canvases were 70% off, so I paid about $4 each.
I base coated the three canvases with Dixie Belle Chalk Finish Paint in Caviar using a cheap foam brush.

I stenciled the grain and smaller words with Dixie Belle Chalk Finish Paint in Daisy, and the chicken and grain areas with Dixie Belle Chalk Finish Paint in Driftwood.

I lightly distressed the edges and even the center area with 220 grit sandpaper.
I pounced Dixie Belle Chalk Finish Paint in Colonel Mustard, Drop Cloth and Driftwood. I sealed the canvases with Dixie Belle Best Dang Wax in Clear.
I decided to frame the canvases with simple 1" x 2" frames aged with Varathane Weathered Wood Accelerator.
The top and bottom boards were the longer ones, 13 1/2", and they were nailed into the top of the side boards, 12", with small finishing nails.
The side boards were nailed to the canvas frame with two nails.
I did not seal the frames.
I love the black background with the weathered gray frames!
I'm really loving the mustard color too.
The signs match my farmhouse decor!
