Regal Upcycle For A Thrift Shop Serving Tray
March 12, 2020
I found this tray last week at the thrift shop for $4.
I was attracted to the floral carvings on the tray ends.

I washed the tray with hot soapy Dawn Dish Soap water and also used a little Krud Kutter Degreaser Spray.
I lightly distressed the tray with 220 grit sandpaper.
I have always wanted a crown stencil and I found this little one at Maison De Stencils. I pounced and swirled on the stencil with Rust-Oleum Metallic Accents Paint in Soft Gold.
I waxed the tray with Dixie Belle Big Mama's Butta.
I used a wax brush and a fiber rag to apply the wax.

As usual, I wasn't thinking of using it as a SERVING TRAY. I like it as a decor piece.
I love the rich black color of Dixie Belle's Caviar.
I also thought the tray would look great hanging on the wall.
Maybe over a doorway with a plate hanger or with sawtooth hangers on the back?
Thanks for visiting!
