Easy Fall Sign Project With Letters From Joann Fabrics
September 27, 2020
I found these Place and Time fall unfinished wood letters at Joann Fabrics last week. They were 50% off, or $4.99.
I had an idea for an easy fall project!

I frequently use these rough sawn, dog eared, cedar fence boards from Menards for rustic projects.
A 36" piece was cut from the bottom of the board.
I brushed on two coats of Varathane Weathered Wood Accelerator in Grey. This is a water based product that works on bare wood.
I especially like to use it on these rough sawn cedar boards.
I pulled the jute off of the letters. It was stapled to the letter backs.
I then brushed a couple of coats of Dixie Belle Chalk Finish Paint in Fluff on the letters.
I searched through my Hobby Lobby hook stash and pulled out this black pipe hook. I always purchase hooks when they on sale at 50% off.
The letters were nailed on with small nails and touched up with the Fluff paint.
The pipe hook was screwed on at the bottom of the board, and a sawtooth hanger was added on the back for hanging.
I sprayed a couple coats of Painter's Touch Multi Purpose Satin Clear Spray Paint on as a sealer coat.
Here is my easy Fall Letter project, hanging on the side garage door.
I hung a small galvanized bucket on the hook with a design transfer that says "Golden Wheat".
Even if you don't have many fancy tools or carpentry skills, this is a pretty easy project for beginners.
