I think it's a challenge to create holiday decor from garage sale and thrift shop finds, and stuff laying around your house. I purchased a box of old measuring cups at a public school garage sale a while back.
In today's post, I will repurpose them and some wooden spoons as rustic fall decor.

I once again will be using Decoart Chalky Finish Paint in Heritage for my pumpkin paint color.
Here are the measuring cups with two coats of paint.
I darkened my spools with wood stain in "natural".
After distressing the measuring cups, I glued the spools/pumpkin stems on the bottoms of the measuring cups with E6000 glue.
I then waxed my project with Dixie Belle's Big Mama's Butta.
Scatter the little faux pumpkins around your kitchen for fun rustic fall decor vignettes.
I had painted the tops of five wooden spoons with white paint last spring on a project idea that failed.
I placed Frog Tape around the spoon handles, and painted the top parts of the spoons with my Decoart Heritage paint.
After distressing the spoons with 100 and 220 grit sandpaper, I added a Jack o'Lantern face on the spoon backs with The Fall Graphics stencil from Old Sign Stencils.
I swirled Dixie Belle's Paint in Caviar onto the stencil.
I waxed the spoons with Dixie Belle's Big Mama's Butta.
The spoon pumpkins are fun displayed in an old grater or in a glass canning jar. Tie a ribbon on the spoons or grater!
Thanks for visiting!

Oh my gosh... the measuring cups are the cutest! But the wooden spoons elevate this one to genius status!
