Vintage Two Tiered Table Makeover with Dixie Belle Paint & Redesign With Prima
November 01, 2020
I purchased this little vintage table at a garage sale recently.
I love upcycling old tables. They always have some great character.

My husband misunderstood (or wasn't listening to me) when I asked him to sand the finish off the top of the table. He also sanded the bottom shelf.
I really wanted to paint the spindles and the bottom shelf.
I chose Dixie Belle Chalk Finish Paint in Vintage Duck Egg to paint the bottom shelf and spindle legs.
I also selected my Zibra Grip-n-Glide Square Paint Brush to paint this table. The square brush works very well on furniture legs and spindles.
Next I pulled out a Redesign with Prima stencil called Alessandro Flourish. It is a 3D stencil that can be used to create a raised pattern.
Redesign with Prima sent me this stencil along with a few of their decor transfers to try.
I taped the stencil onto the sanded table top with blue painter's tape. (Always measure to make sure your stencil is centered!)
I pounced on the stencil using Dixie Belle Chalk Paint in Fluff.
I then opened and stirred my Minwax Wood Finish Stain in Provincial. I applied this stain to the table top using a tee shirt rag.
I love how the stain OVER THE stenciling came out. The stain definitely aged the white paint in the stencil, and also made the stencil POP.
I sealed the table top with two coats of Dixie Belle Gator Hide applied with the Dixie Belle Blue Sponge Applicator.
The legs and bottom shelf were sealed with Dixie Belle Easy Peasy Spray Wax.
It's super easy to use! Just spray it on and wipe the piece down.
This is my finished table project!
I just love it!
Pin for later!
