I purchased this wooden wine box at the thrift shop recently.
At first, I thought about giving it a French makeover with a duck egg blue paint.

But changing course, I wiped on a gel stain, but it was too dark, and covered all of the wood grain.
So I brushed on a couple of coats of Dixie Belle Chalk Finish Paint in Drop Cloth.
I once again chose the Mini Christmas Tree Signs stencil from Old Sign Stencils, that I had used on the Ironing Board Sweater Tree sign.
All pricing and shipping amounts on the website are stated in Canadian funds, and will be converted to US funds.
*Old Sign Stencils has provided me with complimentary samples. All opinions about these fabulous stencils are my own.
Paint colors used included, Dixie Belle Chalk Finish Paint in Caviar, Dixie Belle in Putty, Dixie Belle in Manatee Gray, and Fusion Mineral Paint in Bayberry.
I waxed the box with Dixie Belle Best Dang Furniture Wax, and a lint free rag.
I also had this Lane cedar chest box from a garage sale. I had first painted it in red, but placed it back in my junk stash when I didn't my idea didn't pan out.
I sanded off some transfers that I had placed on the top.
I then painted the box with Fusion Mineral Paint in Bayberry. This is such a neutral green. Perfect with neutral Christmas decor.
I selected the Old Sign Stencils Christmas Sweater stencil for this box. This stencil could easily be used on multiple pieces of your decor!
I used Dixie Belle Paint in Drop Cloth, Putty, and Caviar on the stenciling here as well.
This box was also waxed with Best Dang Wax in Clear.
I love them stacked on a table or shelf.
I love one of a kind decor pieces! That's what you have when you upcycle thrift shop and garage sale purchases.
Pin for later! Thanks for visiting!
