Upcycle & Repurpose Thrifted Items With Hobby Lobby Metal Containers
January 03, 2021
Since I live in a small town, I don't have a lot of shopping opportunities. We are down to one thrift shop, one big box store (Menard's), and 3 dollar stores. And our Kmart closed a year ago without a replacement.
While I still find items to upcycle and repurpose at the thrift shop and garage sales, I supplement my project pieces with metal containers from Hobby Lobby. I must drive 100 miles to find the closest Hobby Lobby stores, so I do order online as well. I always purchase my metal pieces at 40% - 50%.
The above pieces (and a few more) became part of my past projects.
(When you click on the bold Amazon, Old Sign Stencils or Dixie Belle Paint Company affiliate links you will be taken to the products I used for this project. If you order it does not change the price or service at all. As an Amazon Affiliate, Old Sign Stencils Affiliate or Dixie Belle Paint Affiliate, I earn from qualifying purchases.)
New legs and stencils transformed this galvanized piece into a French Style Planter.
The metal three pot planter was upcycled as Easter Decor with transfers also from Hobby Lobby.
A Hobby Lobby metal file box, a cabinet door and stencils were transformed into farmhouse Valentine's Day decor.
This Cabinet Door Planter started out as a grungy old cabinet panel and a Hobby Lobby Spring Shop planter.
A quilted metal planter from Hobby Lobby combines with a candle sconce in this fall Sconce Planter.
This Cabinet Door with Hobby Lobby B was probably my very first project with a Hobby Lobby piece.
This Window Planter With Decor Transfers has a Hobby Lobby galvanized tray screwed into the frame bottom.
This Framed Galvanized Wall Pocket was created with a $1 frame and two Hobby Lobby wall planters.
These Snowball Bucket Ornaments were so easy to craft with items from Hobby Lobby.
This Coffee Sign with Hobby Lobby wire basket is a great place to display coffee themed items.
Galvanized Hobby Lobby metal ornaments, a board, paint, stencil, and magnets combined for this Dog Photo Holder.
One would think I get a commission on Hobby Lobby sales, but I don't. Just giving you some inspiration for upcycling and repurposing in the coming year.
Thanks for visiting!

Thank you for the inspiration! I happen to really love what you did with the coffee grinder. Just too cute! I’m also loving the framed galvanized wall pocket. I know I have a couple of old frames about that size and think that would be so cute! Keep up the good work Carlene. I’ve always loved your work and following everything you do. Happy New Year!
