An Old Window Screen Sign For My Potting Bench By The Shed
May 13, 2021
I found several old window screens at a garage sale a few years ago.
This one gets its second makeover here.

In the screen's first outdoor garden makeover, I stenciled it with a grain sack stripe and a red tractor. I also added a planter box HERE.
Yesterday, I removed the planter box, and painted over the screens using Dixie Belle Chalk Finish Paint in Drop Cloth. It took several coats of paint.
I then pulled out my new 2021 Cafe Stencil from Old Sign Stencils,
Along with my Garden Tools 2021 stencil from Old Sign Stencils.
I have used this stencil on a toolbox project HERE. These stencils coordinate for easy mixing and matching!
I laid the screen horizontally this time, and added both stencils.
I taped them down with blue painter's tape.
I pounced on the Garden Tools and Cafe Stencils using Fusion Mineral Paint in Ash,Dixie Belle Chalk Finish Paint in Kudzu, and Dixie Belle in Barn Red.
I substituted "Eat In - Take Out" with "Garden" from the Garden Tools stencil. "Garden Cafe" was more fitting for my sign.
I used Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover Spray in Satin to protect the paint and stenciling outside. I sprayed on two coats.
Here is my chippy screen garden sign!
It's hanging over my potting sink, now in a new location, next to my garden shed.
I have changed up the shed wall decor, and also hung my Farm Supply Window project.
All prices on the Old Sign Stencils's website are listed in Canadian currency, but there is a handy conversion link for your convenience.
*Old Sign Stencils provided me with complimentary samples. All opinions about these fabulous stencils are my own.
I added some of my farm supply/garden tools to the vignette.
More of this vignette to come with the Garden Cafe side of the potting sink!
Thanks for visiting!
