Goodwill Jewelry Box Receives A Makeover
August 04, 2021
My daughters found this light oak jewelry box at Goodwill in the Twin Cities over the Christmas holidays.
It was taped shut and priced at $9.99.

I'm pretty sure the jewelry box was never used as the inside was super clean, and the mirror still had the original packaging,
AND, this foam was inside too along with the silica gel packet.
The bottom had a made in China sticker.
I brushed on a couple of coats of Dixie Belle Chalk Finish Paint in The Gulf, a soft turquoise.
I found that my $3.49 ornate scroll stencil from Hobby Lobby fit the top perfectly.
I put a spoonful of Fusion Mineral Paint in Raw Silk onto a paper plate to begin stenciling.
I pounced and swirled the paint on the paper plate to get my brush pretty dry before stenciling.
This is the top stenciling.
I used a couple of these scrolly stencils from the FolkArt Dimensional Stencil Pack, Architectural for the sides.
This is a newer stencil package that I recently used on a monochromatic stenciled plant stand/table project.
The stencils worked together very well.
I used a fiber rag to rub on Dixie Belle Best Dang Wax in Clear.
Here is the upcycled jewelry box in my vintage coral tiled bathroom atop one side of the large vanity.
I did not paint the inside of the jewelry box.
I'm loving how it turned out! Thanks for visiting!
