Thrifted Rustic Slatted Photo Holder Has Christmas Makeover With A Decor Transfer
October 19, 2021
These slatted, reclaimed board looking, photo holders, with plexiglass, were
shared in my thrifted April finds post
HERE.
I wiped them off and removed the plexiglass and the hardware holding the
plexiglass.

This is the back of my wooden photo holders.
I brushed on one thin and semi-transparent coat of Dixie Belle Chalk Finish Paint in Drop Cloth, without going all the way to the edges of the wooden slats.
I then pulled out a new Christmas decor transfer from Redesign With Prima, Holly Jolly Xmas.
This transfer is full sized, (probably for furniture) and not the small transfers from my previous projects. This one retails at $29.99 for four designs.
The Happy Holidays design was a little long for my photo holder boards, so I cut off the word Happy.
I removed the white paper backing and began rubbing on the transfer with the enclosed rectangular stick.
I always pull up the clear top film carefully. If any of the transfer is still sticking to the top, I can lay it back down and rub more until its all adhering well.
I took a small scrap of the white paper backing and burnished over the transfer to make sure it was down tight, and then I applied a coat of Dixie Belle Best Dang Wax in Clear with a fiber rag.
I love how my Christmas sign turned out!
Now to fix up three more finds with the other Christmas designs!
Pin for later!
