Thrifted Jute Area Rug Stenciled with Acrylic Paint & Old Sign Stencils
November 14, 2021
I found this Bellsouth jute 21" x 34" area rug, new with tag, at the thrift
store for $9.99.
A plain jute rug is like an artist's canvas.

I really don't know much about this company but the rug looks pretty
nice.
The Christmas Trees stencil from Old Sign Stencils is my favorite Christmas stencil.
I have used this stencil on a wide variety of projects.
All prices on the Old Sign Stencils's website are listed in Canadian currency. A handy currency conversion link is provided for
your convenience.
*Old Sign Stencils provided me with complimentary samples. All opinions about these fabulous stencils are my own.
I used my wooden 12" ruler to center the stencil on the rug, and taped it
on with blue painter's tape.
The stencil's script was pounced on with Fusion Mineral Paint in Ash. Fusion paints are premium acrylic paints that work very well for stenciling and especially for stenciling on fabric.
For the trees, (my favorite part of the stencil), I chose Fusion Mineral Paint Bayberry.
My rug is perfect with neutral Christmas decor, and will work with traditional colors as well.
If I can bear to part with it, it makes a great Christmas gift too!
The rug looks great with a light wood floor.
The toolbox/tote and sled were also stenciled with stencils from Old Sign Stencils HERE.
All of the stencils from Old Sign Stencils coordinate so well together!
Pin for later!

I love it, but I wouldn't have the heart to let people walk on it. It's just too nice for that.
