I purchased this oak pedestal plant table/stand at a garage sale for
$8.
I decided to repurpose it as a martini table.

First off, a portion of the bottom of the pedestal and a portion of the top
of the pedestal were cut off with a chop saw. Approximately 5" of the
pedestal was sawed off in all. The finished height was 25 1/2"
tall.
Next I painted the table with a couple of coats of Dixie Belle Palmetto Chalk Paint using a sponge brush.
Palmetto is a rich, dark and luscious green much like the Palmetto
plant.
I then taped a
5" crown stencil from Maison de Stencils onto the table top. I have had this stencil for a few years
now, and I like adding it to trays or tables.
I pounced on the stencil with Rustoleum Metallic Accents Paint in Soft Gold.
I finished the table with two coats of Dixie Belle Gator Hide.
Gator Hide is a tough clear coat that is easily applied with
Dixie Belle's blue sponge applicator.
Dixie Belle's website has numerous product how to videos HERE. I've watched most of them!
My little martini table is perfect at the end of a sofa or between a pair
of chairs.
AND, of course I can always use it as a plant stand too!
Pin for later!
