I found this wooden magazine tote at Goodwill last fall.

I decided to upcycle it with one of my new green chalk paints and a fun brand new stencil.

I chose Dixie Belle Juniper from Suzanne's Fall Colors Limited Edition. This paint is not currently available on the Dixie Belle website but can be found for sale on Etsy or other online Dixie Belle Paint retailers.

After washing the tote down with hot soapy Dawn Dish Soap and a rag, I brushed on 2 coats of Juniper chalk paint.

Juniper is described as: A muted green with gray undertones. Earthy and welcoming, this hue is reminiscent of a walk in the crisp, fall forest! Paint your projects in this down-to-earth color for an inviting, woodsy appeal!

This Mudcloth Stencil from Dixie Belle Paint Company has a fun textile-like pattern used in pillows and rugs in modern Boho style.

The stencil is quite large, but I was able to choose a section of the stencil to use on the front and back of the magazine tote.

I wasn't able to tape around the stencil, without cutting it down, so I taped one side down on the pattern while I stenciled one half of  the front.  The screwdriver just added a little extra weight to keep the tape from popping up.

I stenciled the mudcloth using Dixie Belle's Drop Cloth Chalk Paint.

I waxed the interior of the tote with Dixie Belle Easy Peasy Spray Wax, and an INTEX SUPPLY Fiber Rag.

I waxed the outsides of the tote using Dixie Belle's Best Dang Wax in Clear.  Both waxes are very easy to apply.

Dixie Belle Paint Company provided me with complimentary product samples. All opinions about this fabulous stencil or paint are my own.

Here is my finished magazine tote/rack.

It's not my usual paint color or style, but I think I could mix a little Boho into my farmhouse!
