Back in 2016, I made two fun projects with two cutting boards and a wooden box.

The wooden box was cut in half, and the two cutting boards were attached to the box halves with screws from the cutting boards backside.
One project sat on a table, as the cutting board and box bottoms were flush,
But one box half was added just a bit higher on the board, and therefore needed to be hung on the wall.
I painted my project with Annie Sloan Chalk in Pure White, and stenciled it with "Farm".
The one that hangs on the wall, and was painted in pure white did not become part of my household decor, nor did I sell it.
The other day I pulled it out of my craft parts, and re-painted it with Dixie Belle Chalk Paint in Dried Sage. Dried Sage is described as soft gray with green undertones.
Dixie Belle Paint Company has provided me with complimentary product samples. All opinions about this fabulous paint are my own.
Next, I pulled out my tube of Redesign With Prima decor transfers, Classic Vintage Labels.
This is a great package of labels that can be used on MANY smaller projects!
This is the label decor transfer that I chose for my project.
I used the enclosed rectangular stick to apply the transfer.
I distressed the edges of the project with 220 grit sandpaper. Some of the white chalk paint and the original wood showed through. I then waxed the piece with Dixie Belle's Best Dang Wax in Clear.
I also added a Tim Holtz Ideaology Factory Tag from Joann Fabrics.
I found this burlap, plastic lined, soft planter at a local greenhouse recently.
The burlap pot fit perfectly in the box on my cutting board. I stuck a small faux plant inside the pot.
I like this version much better.
It's still farmhouse, but with a little French and flower garden vibe too.
I never pass up cutting boards!
Pin for later!
The other cutting board project from the remaining box half and cutting board, still looks like this and I still use it in my kitchen.
Supplies:
1. Thrifted Cutting Board
2. Wooden box. (Doesn't need to be cut in half if it's smaller)
3. Wood screws to attach the box and cutting board.
