Thrifted Chalkboard Easel Spring Gnome Sign
March 06, 2022
I found this easel chalkboard at Goodwill last year.

This is the side and back view.
After taping off the frame with Frog Tape, I brushed on a couple of coats of Dixie Belle Farmhouse Green Chalk Paint.
Dixie Belle's website says "Farmhouse Green is a delicate, springy green color with yellow undertones. This color will add a happy, bright focal point to any
room." I agree, it's a very springy color.
Frog Tape works so well to prevent paint from seeping under
the tape! Better than blue painter's tape.
Next, I pulled out my
$3.49 Hobby Lobby gnome stencil.
The stencil was the perfect size for the chalkboard. I cut the
stencil's sides down just a smidgeon to get it to fit inside the
frame.
Swirling did not work on this stencil due to the very thin parts around the
beard, so I pounced on the gnome stencil using Dixie Belle Chalk Paint in Drop Cloth.
After distressing the frame with 220 grit sandpaper, I sealed the gnome
easel sign with Painter's Touch Clear Matte spray.
Isn't the Easter gnome adorable? I found him at
Dollar General last week for $3.
If you are a gnome lover, this stencil and Easter gnome are very
inexpensive!
Pin for later!
