Junk Garden Decor On The Front Corner Of The House
June 30, 2022
Earlier this year, I found this rustic metal "Sweet Home Minnesota" sign at Goodwill. I'm sure it was homemade! I thought it was perfect for my junk garden vignettes.
See my current plantings and junk decor on the front corner of my house below, along with previous blog photos of this same area from years past.
This photo was taken in June 2022. Upright fuchsias are in the toolbox on the left, and wax begonias are in the smaller toolbox on the right.
The barrel is planted with fiesta red double impatiens and the bucket in the barrel has more upright fuchsias.
The beadboard cabinet door planter from last year is just past this vignette, planted with a begonia and an Engish ivy. My coffee themed ladder returns this year with more impatiens in the coffeepots.
Now lets look at photos from past years below:
This year, I planted torenia in the bucket below the funnel on a broomstick planted with a fuchsia.
Vintage gas cans were also placed in this vignette.
Here is another season with fuchsias pretty much dominating the planters here among the gas cans and funnels.
More fuchsias, my sprinkler collection and an old water and gas pump here. The old gas pump is in a gas can.
This year might just be my favorite. The wax begonias were so full and beautiful!
A front photo of my favorite season. Lots of red, including plants, an old stool, and the inside cover of the brown crate.
More fuchsias with a galvanized container of coleus.
This season I planted orange hanging begonias, along with white impatiens, creeping jenny, torenia, and asparagus fern. I forgot about my rusty bird. It must be hidden in one of the sheds!
This was last year with a mixture of coleus, fuchsias, and wax begonias!
It's hard to change up the shade area plants too much, but luckily I can change the junk.
Thanks for visiting!

DeleteAll beautiful and interesting, Carlene. I could look at your junk gardens every post! I am developing mine in my mind for next year and working on weeding and clearing the space this year--emphasis on weeding! Hard work but satisfying. Have you ever tried to dig myrtle out of a flower bed?? It's labor-intensive to say the least! But my vision of my own junk garden keeps me going and seeing yours over the years keeps me inspired. Thanks for sharing all your versions.
ReplyDeleteThanks Naomi. I haven't removed any myrtle. I had some trouble with Lily of the Valley though.
