Skirt/Trouser Hanger Repurposed As A Botanical Poster Display
February 16, 2023
I found this old skirt/trouser hanger in my garage recently.
I gave it a quick upcycle and now it has a whole new use.

First, I sanded all the finish off of the wooden part of the hanger. It had a dated orangey colored finish.
I then decided to use Rub N Buff in Antique Gold on the metal part, but opted to paint the hanger first with Rustoleum Metallic Accents Paint in Soft Gold. I brushed it on.
The metallic accents paint got better coverage in all the nooks and crannies but left the metal with no depth or variation.
When I rubbed on the Rub N Buff, the hanger took on a much richer antique gold tone.
I rubbed Dixie Belle Best Dang Wax in Clear on the raw wood (sanded) part of the hanger.
I like how it turned out!
I found this Cavallini Herb Poster at a boutique in Bemidji Minnesota.
I really like botanical prints or posters as well!

What creative ideas for using those old wooden hangers, Carlene! I really like the botanical one, the Let It Snow one and the blue hanger with the vintage photo. I think I'll try to find one of those hangers and do something creative with it. Thanks for the idea!
