Upcycled Decorative Dollar Tree Boxes
March 31, 2023
I found these vintage luggage look covered boxes at the Dollar Tree.
I thought they were pretty cute! I gave them an easy upgrade below to make them even better.

Dollar Tree now sells rub on transfers that are pretty decent.
I pulled out several of them that I had on hand.
The rub on transfers can be found by the stickers.
Dollar Tree has by far many more stickers for sale than transfers but if you look carefully you can usually find them.
At $1.25 each, I have purchased a lot of them.
I pulled out one of my metal label holders. They are silver colored. A blue film protects the holders from scratches.
I didn't want the silver color, so I rubbed on Antique Gold Rub N Buff.
I then cut out words from the Dollar Tree transfers to add to the boxes. I chose travel themed words.
I decided to seal the transfers with Rustoleum Painter's Touch Clear Matte Spray.
Besides added protection to the finish, the spray darkened the boxes a bit as well.
One box had words added to the sides.
I cut out "The Journey" from one of the transfers and rubbed it on manila cardstock.
I glued the metal tag frame onto the box cover using E6000 adhesive.
These little boxes are so cute for holding rubber bands, paper clips, receipts, or even travel photos!
This was a very easy project, and inexpensive.
Thanks for visiting.
